Speaking ahead of the final match of the regular Sky Bet Championship season on Saturday, Ethan Ampadu gave his thoughts to LUTV.
Leeds United face Southampton at Elland Road, with both teams still having plenty to play for this season, with them sitting side by side in the league table.
The game gets underway at 12:30pm on Saturday, with every game across the league taking place at the same time.
Firstly reflecting on the loss to QPR last week, Ampadu and the team want to put that result behind them, whilst looking ahead to the game this weekend.
He said: “We didn't put our stamp and our authority into the game at all [at QPR], the result was deserved.
“But after that night, after the weekend, it was just time to regroup. We had a big week coming up, so the last couple of days have actually been good.
“They’ve been full of hard work and preparing for this game coming up on Saturday.
"We just want to regroup, go back to what's got us to this point, what's given us this chance, what's given us this fight and bring that belief into this game.”
Reflecting on his first season with the Whites after joining last summer, the midfielder has played in all 45 league matches up to now, and is proud to have represented the club.
“Obviously when I joined, we all knew what we wanted to achieve and we're on course for that,” he stated.
"We still have the belief that we can achieve that, and that's still our aim.
“It's been a massive honour to play for Leeds this season, I have really enjoyed it, we’ve had a lot of good moments.
“We know what the goal is, so to create history would be amazing and it would be a massive honour for all of us, I think it's what the club deserves.
“But our focus is just for the game and we need to make sure we put Friday night right and also do ourselves justice.
“We want to perform the way we have all season, then see what happens after that.”
