Programmes.

Positive Goals is a 12-week health and wellbeing weight management programme which aims to work towards improving overall lifestyle choices.

Each week there is a 2-hour session which consists of:

1 hour classroom-based activities covering topics such as: healthy eating, healthy alcohol consumption and step counts.

1 hour physical activity session, with exercises such as, walking, circuits and body work outs.

The Positive Goals programme also includes guest speakers and the opportunity to get tickets to a Leeds United home match.

After the 12-week programme is complete, we offer a range of other Health and Wellbeing programmes that can be completed alongside or after Positive Goals, such as circuits and walking football. These work hand in hand with Positive Goals, to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle for all participants.

The cost of the Positive Goals programme is £5 per session which calculates to £60 for 12-weeks.

Impact / Outcome

The Positive Goals programme, not only targets weight management, but aims to improve mental health and social interaction. After the 12 week programme is complete, we aim to maintain the participants fitness levels by offering a range of programmes.

Leeds train station is located in Leeds City Centre and is approximately a 35-40 minute walk to Elland Road.

BUS

Matchday Special Shuttle Service Here's how you can get to Elland Road grounds by bus with the Leeds City (Operated by First Bus) match day special services.

Service R2 operates on most home match days from Sovereign Street in Leeds (outside Café Nero) to Elland Road from 90 minutes before the match starts. The ‘What3Words’ location for this pickup location is haven.detect.tall

Service R3 operates from Thornbury Barracks and Pudsey Bus Station to Elland Road 90 minutes before the match starts.

NOTE: MCards, MetroCards and West Yorkshire Day Rovers are NOT valid on these services

Service Buses From Leeds City Centre:

Along Elland Road, please note that bus stops outside the ground are suspended one hour before and one hour after a home match.

  • Services 51, 52 (Morley Line) from Corn Exchange stop D on Vicar Lane

  • Services 55, 55C from stop City Square stop G on Park Row

Along Beeston Road (10 mins walk from the Co-op, at the top of Wesley Street, Beeston)

  • Services 65, 75

Along Ring Road Beeston (15 mins walk from the Drysalters pub)

PARK AND RIDE

The Leeds United Park & Ride services run to/from the Temple Green & Stourton Park & Ride sites on home matchdays.

The service is being provided by the partnership between the club and Hunters Coaches is not only assisting our fans in the community, but the whole environment. A further advantage of the service is that it is reducing the lengthy car queues and parking issues around the ground, meaning you can arrive at Elland Road in a relaxed manner and get back to your car after the game in a quicker time.

Sites are operated at Temple Green and Stourton with the service starting two-and-a-half hours before kick-off. Please be aware that tickets cannot be purchased on the day, you must book online in advance of matchday. Key information

  • Tickets must be purchased in advance and are priced at £6.50 per person or £21 per car (based on four people sharing)

  • PRE MATCH

    - The shuttle bus service runs from Temple Green (numbered TG1) and Stourton Park and Ride (numbered ST1) to the Stadium. This service begins two-and-a-half hours prior to kick off. A Leeds United steward will be present in a high vis jacket and will check fans onto the buses ready for departure.

  • POST MATCH

    – The shuttle buses will depart immediately after the final whistle on a priority route from the ground, operating on a ‘Fill and Go’ basis. There will be multiple shuttle buses parked behind the North Stand numbered ST1 for Stourton and TG1 for Temple Green. The final shuttle bus will leave Elland Road 25 minutes after the final whistle.

Stourton

  • Stourton Park and Ride is situated at Junction 7 on the M621 and can be accessed directly from the M621 Motorway, A61 Wakefield Road and A639 Leeds Road to Pontefract Road, catering for trips from the South and South/West of the city

Temple Green

  • Temple Green Park & Ride is situated in the Aire Valley adjacent to the A63 Pontefract Lane with access via junction 45 of the M1

PARKING

Leeds City Council currently operate a number of car parks in close proximity to the stadium around Elland Road. The car parking charge is currently £6 per car and payment is by cash only.

Car Park A & B Located adjacent to McDonalds Fullerton Car Park Located off Elland Road behind the West Stand Elland Road Park & Ride Site Located off Elland Road, enter via Bobby Collins Way opposite the Police Station. The site is situated adjacent to the stadium on the A643, just off junction 2 of the M621 motorway.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available for blue badge holders and issued on a first come first served basis. All car parking around the stadium is managed by Leeds City Council.

• North Stand At the rear of the North Stand 150 spaces are available and can be accessed via Bobby Collins Way. (Bobby Collins Way is located just off Elland Road, facing West Yorkshire Police station) Upon entry, supporters will be asked which stand they wish to access, and they will be parked as near as possible to the closest point of entry for their ingress to the stadium. This car park is available for both home and away fans. Leeds United wellbeing officers, who wear high visibility maroon jackets, will be on hand to assist disabled fans into the ground and then assist them back at the end of the game.

• Fullerton Car Park A small number of disabled parking spaces are located in the Fullerton Car Park adjacent to Elland Road.

Car Parks A & B 60 accessible spaces are available in Car Parks A and B. These car parks are accessed via Elland Road.

Lowfields Road

17 accessible spaces are available. Lowfields Road is located adjacent to the East Stand.

Coach Parking A designated coach park is available for away supporters and is located in the Fullerton Car Park. Once away supporters have disembarked from the coaches, stewards direct away fans down the away walkway and into the West Stand area located in close proximity to the away turnstiles (entrance 1 & 2 / Howards) and the Away Fan Zone.

Any home supporters travelling to Elland Road by coach are advised to contact the club in advance of match day to arrange coach parking by emailing sloquestions@leedsunited.com

Coach parking charges are £12 for mini coaches and £20 for coaches per vehicle.

All of the above car parks are managed by the Parks & Countryside Service of Leeds City Council, and can be contacted by telephone 0113 395 7400, or alternatively parks@leeds.gov.uk. Car parking charges are subject to change.

ROAD CLOSURES

Post-match road closures are in place around the stadium.

Elland Road is closed 15 minutes prior to the final whistle, and remains closed up until at least 1 hour.

Lowfields Road is closed post-match for vehicular movement. No vehicles will be allowed to move until fans have left this area, this could delay you from 30 minutes, up to an hour after the final whistle.

Leeds United Foundation Fit Minds is a FREE 6-week programme to support with everyday challenges and the use of common coping strategies that can help keep a positive mind set. Delivered with our partners, Touchstone, the programme is designed to help participants have the confidence and abilities to cope with day-to-day stresses.

Weekly workshops cover what mental health is, depression, stress, coping mechanisms and building resilience around stress and anxiety.

The sessions encourage taking control of your wellbeing, self-care and confidence to become assertive and give you the tools to build a balanced lifestyle.

The programme hosts events with guest speakers from the Leeds United Family, sharing experiences around the topics covered. Fit Minds compliments other health and wellbeing programmes offered by the Foundation which offers additional chances to take part in workshops focussing on wellbeing and exercise. Participants will get the opportunity to attend a Leeds United home fixture at the end of the 6-week programme.

Our Healthy Families programme supports children's health and wellbeing through education on healthy living and exercise. The programme content, delivered in school over 5 weeks, helps children become responsible and confident in being active and eating healthily.

The workshops are delivered weekly as 45 minutes sessions and are available for either/both Year 1 and Year 4. Sessions cover a range of topics from practical food workshops and discussions on where food comes from to physical skills and games.

The sessions provide children the opportunity to experience, learn and enjoy making choices which will have a positive effect on their health and wellbeing.

Available through sponsorship from Arla to schools in the following areas.

Walking Football is a slow-paced version of the beautiful game. We offer weekly sessions which include a warm-up, walking football match and a cool down which are led by our qualified coach.

Impact / Outcome

The aim of Walking Football is to allow people to make new friends, form lasting relationships with like-minded people and to reduce levels of stress and exertion while playing football. Walking Football can also be suitable for people who are recovering from an injury or feel like they don’t want to play full paced football anymore.

Working out Together is a fitness programme which is inclusive to all. We currently offer two weekly circuit sessions which are based at Elland Road and are a suitable for various fitness levels and ages.

All sessions are held at Elland Road and are led by our qualified PT.

Each session costs £4 each or £28 for a monthly, online block booking.

The aim of Working out Together is to increase and maintain the fitness levels for the Leeds community, as well as improving mental heath and social interaction.

Our Over 50’s Social Goals Group is a free, weekly health and wellbeing group that takes place at Elland Road Stadium. These fun sessions includes Leeds United quizzes, activities, guest speakers and ground tours, whilst allowing you to meet other likeminded people and dive into the history of Leeds United.

The aim of the over 50s social goals group is to benefit the Leeds community in reducing social isolation, as well as improving mental heath and social interaction skills.

Our Corner Flag Café is a monthly session run for people living with dementia. Working with the Leeds City Council Peer Support Dementia Service the session is for individuals and their families/ carers to attend and meet new people to reminisce and reflect on memories of Leeds United. This is supported through guest speakers, ground tours, memorabilia, programmes and old LUFC footage.

Impact / Outcome

The aim of the Corner Flag Café is to tackle the social isolation that can accompany living with dementia and provides access to support from the Leeds City Council Peer Support Dementia Service.

Every session includes free breakfast sandwiches and hot drinks to all attendees. There are monthly trips and activities away from the stadium, as a well as regular guest speakers. Veterans can also benefit from support from our partner, Sporting Force, who attend the sessions.

Impact / Outcome

Combating isolation, mental health problems through social interaction and exercise. Offering the opportunity to improve wellbeing through a weekly meeting routine.
